Memorial Day With Charbroil and Perfect Burgers

“This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of Char-Broil; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.”

With Memorial Day plans coming up what's there to do? This is where you say grill something.

Working with the great people over at Char Broil I got to play with their Commercial Series TRU-Infrared 3-Burner Gas Grill a beautiful hunk of stainless steel to do whatever I wanted.

So I decided fermented fish was the perfect answer for something for the grill.

Wait. Don't leave.

OK OK so you don't expect to hear the words fermented and fish when you think grilling. Or eating most likely….

The thing I am talking about is fish sauce and its been a secret weapon of Asian pantries for hundreds of years. This stuff boosts the n Umami (the rich, savory taste in foods) in meat making them just taste….more meaty (if done right.

So with my beautiful new Char Broil Grill I decided to show you a way to take burgers to a whole new level.

The nice part is this is not something you need to do ahead. Just whip this special sauce up mix with your meat and bam!

2 lbs Ground Beef (I would not go below 20 percent)
2 1/2 Tablespoons of Fish Sauce (every Asian grocery store has this)
1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon onion and garlic powder

Let me take a second and say how developing this recipe went using the Char Broil Grill.

I was the kind of guy who thought eh you could grab a cheap grill from Wal Mart and it would basically be the same.

With my Char Broil I got the bread for the burgers toasted (yes bread I am a single guy) perfectly with side griddle.

The heat was even and perfectly adjustable. Oh and the fact I didn't have fear for my life trying to light it.

With 2 pounds of cheap meat, some American cheese, and some...OK bread my burgers were called by my test subjects "almost as good as a sit down restaurant" and "I would pay 7 dollars for this" so I like to think its a hit.
