Souk Shawarma Opens in DTLA

If your only shawarma experience is that scene from the Avengers now is your chance to get a shwarma education. Souk Shawarma has opened on Wilshire just minutes away from Union Station.

Shawarma is pretty simple in premise. Its meat on a spit that has the outer pieces cut off and usually eaten with flatbread. Typically you see shawarma served with beef. Souk puts its spin on it with 6 varieties. There's beef, chicken, duck, lamb, and two sausage options.

What should you try at Souk? While all the shawarma is good try to go outside your comfort zone and get a little exotic. The duck is an excellent choice but the sandwich that would make me come back would be the Merguez (its a spicy heavily seasoned lamb sausage.) Its a little spicy, has a nice fattiness, and a complex spice blend.

So go check them out. If you do go let us know! Post your pics on our FB wall!
