Brunch is a serious thing in Los Angeles. 26 Beach delivers. Between Marina Del Rey and Venice, 26 Beach has been a family owned operation for over 25 years. With a line almost every weekend for brunch you know they must be doing something right. 26 is famous for two things at brunch. Their egg scrambles and their serious french toast dishes.
With over a dozen french toasts to choose from you might be a little intimidated. Two of the most popular options at 26 are the Reese's and the Polar Bear. The Reese's is a chocolate lovers dream with both a peanut butter and chocolate sauce smothering the french toast. The polar bear is a change from the typical bread used for a french toast, using a croissant. The menu says this is served with a white chocolate shaving but....yeah not this time. This dish didn't hurt from it if you love croissants and french toast this may be your dream hybrid breakfast.
I cant talk about the brunch at 26 without mentioning the egg scrabbles here. 26 is really proud of these and they have a prominent position on their menu. Like their french toasts they offer quite a few options. Some guests swear by the Crab Royal which actually uses real crab (really good crab.) I personally also liked the Rajun Cajin (pictured below) because of its bold flavors something that is seriously lacking in the American breakfast scene.
