Pie-Not is now at Whole Foods Tustin.
Pie-Not one of Eating Around So Cal's favorite Costa Mesa restaurants is now selling a limited selection of its pies (sadly all veggie) at Whole Foods Tustin. These are Australian pies. Basically a pot pie that you eat like a burger. With amazing fillings like ground lamb, short rib, and leeks. There will be 5 options available at Whole Foods every day.
The Vege Patch Pie (a medley of garden fresh vegetables in a tomato puree w/ herbes de Provence in a shortcrust pastry shell w/ a puff pastry lid, $6.50)
The Hippie Roll (spinach, ricotta, walnuts, Swiss and Gruyere cheeses, and cayenne, $4.00)
The “vegan” Ghandi (Indian spiced chickpeas, potatoes, cauliflower, carrot and butternut squash in a shortcrust pastry parcel, $4.50)
The Apple & Cinnamon, and Strawberry & Rhubarb Map-A-Tassies (light puff pastry triangle stuffed with rough cut seasonal fruit filling and dusted with icing sugar, $3.00)
For the meat lovers you will have to go to Pie Not itself for your fix. I suggest the lamb and short rib pies but nothing at Pie Not seems to be a failure. I expect these guys to be in a lot more Whole Foods soon.
