I'm Irish. Like REALLY Irish. In elementary school where everyone listed famous ancestors all I had were blacksmiths and farmers.... So I can say I was pleased to see O'Donovan's Pub open in downtown Pomona. They took over a space in a old motel. Now its Pomona and theres also the fact that what product you can get is vastly different between Ireland and California. So there will be differences. Like for instance corned beef tacos. It being Pomona (a SGV taco hub) this is a nice spin on the taco. The other bloggers I was with thought this was one of the best dishes (maybe add a spicy roasted salsa?) My personal favorite was the Shepherd's Pie. Served in an iron skillet they really had this dish down. Not too much potato to dull the stew inside but enough potato because...its an Irish pub and we love freaking potatoes. Ending the meal their bread pudding is served again in a iron skillet. It has a orange flavor added to it in addition to the chocolate chips. I would say a scoop of coffee ice cream in your favorite liquor may be a more authentic choice.
